What is Aphid?

Aphids, also known as plant lice and in Britain and the Commonwealth as greenflies, blackflies, or whiteflies, are small sap-sucking insects, and members of the superfamily Aphidoidea. Aphids are among the most destructive insect pests on cultivated plants in temperate regions.The damage they do to plants has made them enemies of farmers and gardeners the world over, though from a zoological standpoint they are a highly successful group of organisms.Their success is due in part to the asexual reproductive capabilities of some species.

About 4,400 species are known, all included in the family Aphididae. Around 250 species are serious pests for agriculture and forestry as well as an annoyance forgardeners. They vary in length from 1 to 10 millimetres 

HOW APHID DAMAGES ?

It sucks the pant juices , attacking the leaves , stem , buds , flowers , fruit , root 

This damages show the result in plant growth and looses the immunity power of the plant.

when the stems or leaves have sticky substance that shows the indication of the aphids 

The honeydew(a sweet, sticky substance excreted by aphids and often deposited on leaves and stems) produced by the insects as waste which attracts the other insects

HOW TO ELIMINATE THE APHIDS ?

Use the eco-friendly products to control the aphids!

• Spray the SOUR BUTTERMILK to get rid of the Aphids naturally (Recommended)
• Better way to eliminate the aphids is pruning , remove the infected area or Remove the entire plant to stop the spreading the attack to the Crops in your field.
• Try to spray the Neem oil which is diluted in water to control the aphids .
• By using insecticidal soap spray on the plants.
• Give Jeevamrutha(Cow/Buffalo Urine) along with water , to strengthen the Plants Immunity .

• Try to attract the beneficiary insects to get rid of the aphids.
• Aphids may also be controlled by the release of natural enemies, in particular lady beetles and parasitic wasps. However, since adult lady beetles tend to fly away within 48 hours after release, without laying eggs, it requires repeated application of large numbers of lady beetles to be effective..
• Use herbal oil to spray on the plants.
• Use the detergent soap a very little which is diluted in water.
• Don't neglect the ants , kill them !
